Title: “River & Forest”
Medium: Colored Pencil
Year 2025 Month April

A new and very large challenge! A FULL 20″x16″ colored pencil scenery drawing. Not only discovering new ways to create trees with colored pencil but trying to keep the perspective of the photo as well. This photo was the clients own photo they took on vacation and they loved this spot. The river takes you through a thicket of woodlands and then finally up to the mountains where the clouds/mist rise up above into the sky…
I am grateful for trying something new and I look forward to advancing my skills past animals and embracing the whole world.

Title: “Double-Doodle”
Medium: Colored Pencil
Year 2025 Month February
Description: These adorable doodles are both HAMS! I had the great opportunity to meet both of these dogs and they LOVE attention. Both are very sweet and too smart! I enjoyed every second of creating their unique fur texture and getting each of their soft eyes just right to show their personalities. They make a great pair for art!

Title: “Growlin”
Medium: Colored Pencil
Year 2024 Month December
Description: A red hot Jaguar Sports Car! Very sleek and shiny. I took the photos myself and used those as my reference. Focusing on the “shiny” or “Glares” on the car helped create the curves and 3-d effect. This was my first car drawing in colored pencil and patience was key!

Title: “April”, the Silver Lab
Medium: Colored Pencil
Year 2024 Sept.
This lovely Lab was so much fun to do! The colors that she shined in the photo really resonated with me, the purples, pinks, creams and grays. Silver colored animals can shine the rainbow at times. The gentle and pleasant expression was soft and friendly just ready to go on the next adventure…
This lovely lab’s family are enjoying their new pet portrait at home for years to come.

Title: “King $al”
Medium: Colored Pencil
Year 2023 Month July
Description: Another commission request for a Lion! Love doing these lions as they really challenge your skill for fur and hair texture. I had a lot of fun doing the open jaw pose creating a wet texture for the mouth.
The owner of this artwork was in love at first sight of his new lion. He also had requested to get a custom frame done as well and I will have a picture of that later on.
“King $al” was named by the owner as they wanted to show pride in their astral sign and wanted a lion that represents their true inner self.

Title: “Prideful Glare”
Medium: Colored Pencil
Year 2023 Month April
Description: This piece was requested because of a customer’s love of lions and African themed art. Since they did not have a personal photo available for a lion portrait I purchased a creative rights license for the photo I used and decided to go with a classic portrait style. This lion portrait is 11×14 and was requested by the customer to add matting.
I wish pictures captured images like how we see things in the real world because I am so proud of this piece and, I feel as though this picture only displays 85% of how this looks in real life. I hope I did my best in representing the lion in an orange matt and giving him a wire mane that still appears to be soft. His eyes looking into your inner self and glaring at who you are, giving full judgement in seconds.
What a wonderful piece!

Title: “Cousin Kenny”
Medium: Colored Pencil and Water Color
Year 2023 Month February
Description: This was a personal portrait for my cousin Kenny. He and I both love horses and he always says, “We will get you back in that saddle.”
Even though I have lost my horse, I knew that he was in good hands with my cousin. He watched my horse, Spirit, until his final days when I could not. This portrait is of gratitude and a thank you for all those years.
I look forward to going on a trail ride one of these days with my cousin and enjoy a quiet ride through the woods.
Horse’s names: Trigger (left) & Patsy (right)

Title: “High Racking Pony”
Medium: Colored Pencil
Year 2022
Description: A beautiful Hackney Pony! This was a commission request for an 11×14 size by a gentleman who has been raising and showing Hackney Ponies for over 50 years! WOW! I am unsure which show this picture was taken but I’m sure an update to this story is coming!
For those who do not know what a Hackney pony is they are a smaller harness breed of ponies. They are usually calm and have great demeanors. They have high set tails, smooth backs and a well-muscled slopped neck. They are known for their high-knee and high-action gaits.

Title: “Hackney on the Go”
Medium: Colored Pencil
Year 2022
Description: Another beautiful Hackney Pony! From the same gentleman from the above commission this is a second commission. This is another one of his ponies he takes great pride in.
He decided to go with a 16×20 size for this portrait so I could include the full cart and pony. We agreed to add a fuller base (sand area) for this portrait and I think this really puts it all together.

Title: “Joplin”
Medium: Colored Pencil & Water Color
Year 2022
Description (left): This commission was done in both colored pencil and water color. I personally got to meet Joplin and she was so excited to have a twin sister! I was so impressed with her large characteristic eyes and Joplin even wore her favorite scarf too! This portrait is 11×14 in size.

Title: “Zepplin”
Medium: Colored Pencil & Water Color
Year 2022
Description (center): Sometimes a pet leaves our lives and the only physical memories we might be left with are pictures and videos. Zepplin’s owner commissioned me to draw this lovely dachshund to add to his shrine. This portrait is 11×14 in size.
